Essential Read: Uplevel by Tale Alimi

July 1, 2017 Melanie Hawken
Tale Alimi

Tale Alimi

If there is anyone who knows how to make a living from an entrepreneurial passion then it has to be Tale Alimi, a business growth specialist from Nigeria. Her new book, Uplevel, is written to provide a step by step guide to help others to find their niche and convert it into a profitable business. She draws on her own personal experiences on how to find life’s calling, and is proof positive that it is indeed possible to grow a business based on an entrepreneurial passion.

Uplevel has been written to address some common questions that author and entrepreneur Tale Alimi has had to answer over the years from women she has met along her business journey, including:

  • How do I find my niche so I can live a more fulfilling life?
  • How do I build my personal brand and profit from it?
  • What is the passion I can turn to a profitable business?
  • How do I transition from my 8 to 5 to pursuing my passion full time?
  • How do I find work/business I am passionate about?
  • How do I tell my brand story in an engaging and believable way?
  • How do I build a tribe of raving fans ready to buy my products or services?

This five part book is a call to action for people to Uplevel and grow in areas where they have been previously stagnant. The goal is that the reader will be inspired to take action to find their niche; at the same time, the book will then serve as a practical tool to guide them on this journey to uplevel their business and life. Every chapter of the book sets the tone with a quote from an inspiring person which will immediately create context for the reader to learn from the chapter. The book also features a lot of real life examples and case studies of people who found their niche and how they are impacting the world. Tale also shares some of her own personal stories of the mistakes and failures experienced in her own life, and the lessons she has learned from them which is helping to form who she is and the decisions she makes today.

Author quotes

I am a seeker and learner and I am on a journey to become all that I have been created to be on this earth. I consider myself an example that no matter what obstacles life throws your way, you can overcome, stand strong, and keep moving.
I have had my fair share of ups, downs, disappointments, failures (businesses, relationships and careers), defeats and amazing adventures. I have struggled with fear, people’s criticisms and self imposed limitations. I have been a serial entrepreneur for over 12 years and I have built a few businesses, one I had to walk away from!
I believe you can create the life you desire if you believe and are willing to do the work to get from where you are to where you want to be. I believe you have been given what you need to move ahead in life, you just have to look inwards and get the required knowledge to unlock your true potential.
I believe everyone has a ‘special sauce’. By that, I mean the unique combination of traits that make you different and special.

Why LoA loves it….

If there is one thing that women entrepreneurs around the world commonly need it’s the knowledge of how to turn their intrinsic passions into entrepreneurial opportunities, and there is no better way of learning that than by being inspired by others who have done it. So Tale Alimi’s book is a great example of how one woman found her passion, harnessed her key skills and used both as the inspiration for a highly successful business that today is positively changing so many other women’s lives. She shows you how to take your own secret sauce and use it as the foundation to turn a business idea into a reality, and in turn, how to maximize life’s opportunities. A must read for any woman who has the germ of an idea for a business but is looking for the spark to ignite her own entrepreneurial journey. --- Melanie Hawken, founder and editor-in-chief of Lionesses of Africa
