Essential Read: Nothing is Impossible - Valuable lessons learned from an award-winning entrepreneur by Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley

June 26, 2016 Melanie Hawken
Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley

Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley

Nothing is Impossible - Valuable lessons learned from an award-winning entrepreneur, is the story of one woman’s journey to building successful business ventures in a new era in South Africa. Author and entrepreneur, Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley cares deeply about her country and the people in it, and this comes across powerfully as she shares the ups and downs of embarking on any entrepreneurial venture for the first time in Africa.

Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley writes from the heart, and in this new book, Nothing is Impossible, she shares her personal story of dreaming big as a young girl in a new and rapidly changing South Africa. She provides valuable and highly practical insights as to how she made the progression from corporate employee to franchisee, learning the business building ropes in the early days, to thereafter building the business ventures and brands of her own that reflected her own personal business vision. Over the subsequent years, Anthea has built several successful business ventures, ranging from a guest house to a catering company, a waste and recycling business to a specialist consulting firm, but her philosophy remains remarkably down-to-earth and highly practical. Her book provides simple, yet tried and tested tips, that will help any aspirant or young up-and-coming entrepreneur to achieve their own goals in business. She also understands all too well the power of giving back to the community and helping to empower a new generation of entrepreneurs in her country, supporting a range of outreach programmes and initiatives that make a difference to the lives of others.

“To all my fellow entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs to be, I wrote this book because this is my journey as an entrepreneur in South Africa, with all the South African challenges that I have been through. What is know for sure is that the journey for most of you will be tough. Keep on dreaming, keep on doing, stay focused, and you will achieve your goals.”

“I hope that this little book will set you off onyour journey of new beginnings, or help you to accelerate to the next level. When things get tough or you are losing track of your vision and goals, refer back to your vision map….. There is no major achievement that doesn’t start firstly as a dream.”

- Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley, entrepreneur and author
