Startup Story

Tabono Consult Ltd was established in 2020 in Tanzania to assist companies manage the disruptions from the COVID-19 Pandemic where staff had to be repurposed and other adjustments made in order for those businesses to stay afloat. It is a company driven by women founders Elizabeth Karamangi, Linda Chawe, and Sophia Mrimi, supported by a workforce of 18 people, and today is thriving.



LoA spoke to founders Elizabeth, Linda, and Sophia to learn more about their business building journey and their vision for the future.

What does your company do?

Tabono Consult Ltd is a specialist business consultancy in human resource services, finance and accounting, business advisory, administration and secretarial services.

What inspired you to start your company?

The disruption caused by COVID-19 in 2020 and the need to assist companies manage the disruptions from pandemic, recognising that staff had to be repurposed and other adjustments made in order for those businesses to stay afloat.

What makes your business, service or product special?

We can tailor our services to meet the client's specific operational needs in Tanzania. We offer a range of specialist services that are designed to help clients deal with challenges arising from people management and the absence of adequate and accurate information to navigate such challenges. The services include:

Human Resource Consultancy - We advise clients on a wide range of issues involving its workforce, so as to ensure the organization’s human capital serves the best interests of the company.

Recruitment Solution - We work with our clients to attract the right candidate in the shortest possible time with a selection process that is tailored to the needs of each position at every level of the organization.

Manpower Outsourcing - Provision of end-to-end manpower services within the stipulated timeframe.

Payroll and Benefits Solution - We confidentially manage all aspects of your payroll; payments, statutory deductions, and payment advice slips.

HR Administration Services - Implementing HR processes for staff can be time consuming but you can outsource this for a fraction of the cost of employing an HR administrator to do this.

Pre-Employment Assessment - These include, but are not limited to, background checks such as criminal, credit, as well as academic qualifications.
